Encourage your colleagues for the 2024 Kilimanjaro Challenge

The initiative to climb the highest peak in Africa has officially kicked off!

Two of your colleagues, orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Mehdi Tahiri and physiotherapist Laurie Brunton, initiated this ambitious challenge to raise money for Fondation Hôpital Charles-LeMoyne, in support of thoracic oncology research. What an incredible gesture! We sincerely thank them.

They’re motivated by their desire to do more for their Hospital and contribute to improving care and services for patients with thoracic tumours.

Sharing a passion for adventure and committed to the same cause, 20 equally-generous participants joined Dr. Mehdi Tahiri and Laurie Brunton in less than a week. The team is now complete. In October 2024, the team will embark on a quest to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, at 5895 metres altitude, with the goal of raising $50,000 for the cause.

The entire population of Montréal’s South Shore will benefit, since Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne is the only facility in the region with expertise in thoracic surgery.
