A real difference for the Plante family

Today, the family sees this centre as a major step forward for families across Montérégie.
Before the opening of the pediatric day centre, each hospitalization completely disrupted the Plante family’s balance. When their son Lewis was hospitalized, Karel stayed at the hospital for two weeks while Samuel remained at home with their daughter Mila. Disrupted schedules, distance, back-and-forth trips and worry – along with the difficulty of going through the ordeal apart, during a move no less – made this period especially trying for the young family.

A few years later, when Achille, their youngest child, was hospitalized, the experience was very different. After just one night at the hospital, he was able to quickly return to the comfort of home and be surrounded by his whole family. Follow-up care was then provided at the day centre by the same care team, in an environment that was even more reassuring and better suited to young patients.

For Samuel and Karel, this approach to care made all the difference, both for their child and for them as parents.

Being able to come home quickly, get back to our routine and stay together as a family… it changes everything. The day centre allowed us to experience care differently, with less stress, more comfort and the feeling of being truly supported.

Today, the family sees this centre as a major step forward for families across Montérégie, as well as a source of pride for Hôpital Charles-LeMoyne and the teams who work there every day caring for children.

Yes! I want to support the patients at Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne.
