The Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQ) has officially recognized the excellence of our research centre, the Centre de recherche Charles-Le Moyne (CRCLM). This is a major step in strengthening our role as a university hub, with a direct impact on clinical research and medical innovation!
In the world of research, it means playing in the big leagues! That we’re at the same table as the research centres at the CHUM, the Jewish General Hospital and the Douglas. We’re in the same league as the major research centres.
Cloé Rodrigue,
Director of Research at CISSS de la Montérégie-Centre.
Being the first health research centre in the Montérégie, that’s an extraordinary acknowledgment of the expertise of the CRCLM’s researchers. For nearly 30 years, they’ve been contributing to advancing knowledge on critical issues such as mental health, addiction, oncology, front-line services, as well as youth psychosocial adaptation and rehabilitation.
This recognition will allow the Centre to:
- better support researchers and students;
- establish and strengthen collaborations with the community;
- more effectively share and showcase its research results in Québec and beyond.
What is the CRCLM?
The fruit of a partnership between Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne and Université de Sherbrooke, the Centre de recherche Charles-Le Moyne improves access to health care for specific populations, particularly those who are vulnerable and underserved. It works closely with policymakers, health care professionals, patients and their loved ones, as well as the general population to promote sustainable health for all. The Centre brings together 36 regular researchers, 21 associate researchers, 50 physicians engaged in clinical research at Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne, and over 200 students. It also boasts 11 research chairs.
The CRCLM owes much of its success to your generosity. From the beginning, it received unwavering support from donors like you, contributing to its development. You are among those who believed in its mission and helped it grow!
Thanks to your support, research and health care in the Montérégie can advance even further. Thank you for continuing to help make Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne a major hub for research and university teaching.
