185,000 thanks to the generous participants, donors, and partners involved in the Challenge – Together, Let's Ride Against Cancer!
What an extraordinary mobilization! Thanks to the energy of hospital teams, partners, donors, businesses, and the entire community, than $185,000 was raised to support cancer patients at Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne.
The 12-Hour Cycling Challenge: the highlight of an event that took place throughout the month of September!
On Tuesday, September 30, the hospital lobby was filled with applause, smiles, and warm exchanges between hospital staff, patients, and users who showed remarkable generosity. For 12 hours, 14 teams from different departments took turns on stationary bikes to transform their energy into specialized care, cutting-edge equipment, and research for oncology patients.
They were joined by local sponsors, partners, and former patients, also determined to help fight cancer in Montérégie:
“I had to give back,” says Gilles Bouffard, a two-time cancer survivor treated at the hospital. “I was fed, housed, and cured. I feel indebted. Participating in the Challenge was my way of giving back, literally.”

Together, Let's Ride Against Cancer – A collective and inclusive mobilization
The success of this edition is rooted in the collective and inclusive commitment of:
- citizens and families participating in the 30/30 Challenge;
- companies taking part in the 9-to-5 Cycling Challenge, pedaling in relays in their offices;
- and hospital teams who gave their all in the 12-Hour Cycling Challenge.
This great chain of solidarity brought together citizens, business leaders, and elected officials, with the presence of Longueuil Mayor Catherine Fournier, who came to cheer on the hospital teams, as well as Foundation spokespersons Josée Lavigueur and Dominic Arpin.
Seeing our hospital teams, our partners, and the entire community cycling side by side is an incredible demonstration of solidarity with oncology patients.

President and Executive Director of Fondation Hôpital Charles-LeMoyne
Heartfelt thanks
An event like this could not exist without the invaluable collaboration of many key players:
- all the participants in the three different Challenges, donors, and volunteers, without whom none of this would have been possible;
- Josée Lavigueur and Dominic Arpin, inspiring spokespersons who once again lent their voices and energy to the cause;
- Catherine Fournier, Mayor of Longueuil, for her commitment to fighting cancer;
- Julien Terrier, Director of the CICM, for his involvement and support throughout the event;
- the members of the Board of Directors, committed and actively engaged in the Challenge;
- and finally, the partners and sponsors, who stood by the event from start to finish and took numerous actions to amplify its impact.
Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to making the Challenge – Together, Let’s Ride Against Cancer a resounding success.
Thanks to you, some 13,000 patients treated each year at the CICM can count on specialized care and advanced treatments, right here at home in Montérégie.
We look forward to seeing you next year to continue this movement of solidarity together and help fight cancer!
