Every day, in the mental health department at Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne, adults of all ages go through profound distress. They are loved ones, colleagues, parents, friends.
Crisis. Depression. Loneliness. Fear.
For many, it is their first contact with psychiatry. In these fragile moments, everything matters: feeling welcomed, heard, and supported. Because to begin to heal, one must first feel safe.
Your generosity makes it possible to welcome patients — often at their most vulnerable — with dignity. To offer well-being workshops. To create calming environments. To support deeply committed care teams.
Every action you take has already changed the daily lives of hundreds of patients like Isabelle in very real ways.
Thanks to you, people like Isabelle have found a space where they can be heard, supported, and cared for.
You have offered than access to care.
You offer presence, stability, and a path toward serenity.
One of the largest mental health hubs in Québec
With 89 beds across three specialized units (young adults, adults, and geriatric psychiatry), the mental health department is the second-largest psychiatric hospitalization centre in Québec after the Douglas Institute — and the largest within a general Hospital.
The Fondation has committed to raising $1.5 million to improve the well-being of patients in psychiatry and the staff who care for them. We are currently 60% of the way toward our goal.
