The achievements of the Generations Challenge

More than $200,000 raised for the pressing needs of Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne

Longueuil, September 26, 2023 – The huge solidarity movement in support of the hospitals that swept across Québec culminated on September 23 as the Generations Challenge came to a close. Together, the hundreds of participants who pushed their limits for their hospitals raised more than $700,000. The Fondation Hôpital Charles-LeMoyne raised $200,000!

The proceeds raised through a wide variety of creative, original and sports initiatives will be allocated to help Québec hospitals meet their real and urgent needs.

Each foundation has its needs
For Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne, the funds raised thanks to the Generations Challenge will contribute to providing the Hospital with cutting-edge medical equipment. “What does this mean for Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne? More surgeries, less operating time, less staff. What does it mean for patients? Less days in hospital, less pain medication. In short, more innovation and comfort, all thanks to the efforts of the Generations Challenge participants! A big thank you to everyone,” said Nathalie Boudreau, President and Executive Director of Fondation Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne.

A unique collective effort
This year, 16 foundations took part in this unique collective initiative in Québec. This participation is a testament to the relevance of an event like this and the importance of persevering in order to continuously make strides. That’s why all of Québec’s hospital foundations are invited to join in the next edition!

The foundation would also like to acknowledge that this adventure would not have been possible without the precious support of its valued provincial media partner: Québecor and its local presenter, RONA.

About the Generations Challenge
The Generations Challenge is a unique solidarity movement, a vast online fundraising initiative in support of the province’s hospitals. In 2023, sixteen hospital foundations, covering 9 regions, 12 CISSSs, CIUSSSs and UHCs, joined the movement.
