Thanks to YOU, nearly $30,000 has already been raised through the 12-Hour Cycling Challenge! An incredible community effort that will help us do for cancer patients, right here in Montérégie.
12 hours. 35 bikes. 18 teams. One shared cause.
On Wednesday, September 30, the first pedal strokes at 7 a.m. kicked off a day full of energy in the lobby of Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne.
For 12 hours, 18 teams made up of staff members, physicians, patients, loved ones and young philanthropists took turns on the bikes in support of everyone affected by cancer.
The 18 teams proudly represented their respective departments and groups: FHCLM (Fondation Hôpital Charles-LeMoyne), SPEEDEAU (education department), Passe-Partout (paediatrics and perinatal care), Les Petits Philanthropes (Little Philanthropists’ Club), Les patients et proches du CICM (patients and loved ones at the Centre intégré de cancérologie de la Montérégie), CICM-RCM (Centre intégré de cancérologie de la Montérégie and Réseau de cancérologie de la Montérégie), Pédalons pour Geneviève (operating room), Le Cœur battant (cardiology, 5 South), Les Cœurs Poumons (hemodynamics and respiratory therapy), Santé mentale (mental health teams), Les Bicycles radioactifs (medical imaging), Super Mario (facilities and infrastructure), CycloRX (pharmacy), Le Peloton de la pharmacie (pharmacy), Curiethérapie (brachytherapy), Les Optiflows (respirology, 1F), À fond les synapses (neurology and neurosurgery, 3 North) and Fondation Leski (Fondation Leski).
Patients and their loved ones were also at the heart of the movement. Several hopped on a bike, along with visitors and passersby swept up in the energy of the Challenge.
Throughout the day, the cheers, smiles and donations kept coming. Every pedal stroke had the same goal: advancing cancer care.
Nearly $30,000 raised… and the total keeps climbing! And it’s not over yet! The 12-Hour Cycling Challenge fundraising campaign is still open, so we can push that total even higher.
Every donation helps provide ultraspecialized care, state-of-the-art treatments and support for cancer patients at the Centre intégré de cancérologie de la Montérégie.
