A time to be together and to say thank you

“A lover of music and life. A positive, genuine, and straightforward man. Direct, yet always respectful of others.”

A description that surely brought a smile to the faces of those who know Roland well. Since his arrival at the Samuel de Champlain Palliative Care Center, Roland Norchet had been thinking of a way to give back to the care team supporting him.

A man who loves bringing people together and who is no stranger to organizing events. He invited about thirty loved ones to a very special afternoon. On the Center’s terrace, they shared a moment of music, fellowship, and appreciation.

Among the guests was his loyal team of friends and colleagues from the Palais des Congrès, who still surround him today. Gérard, Karine, and Danielle also played an important role in organizing the fundraising event.

Two singer-musicians performed songs that held special meaning for the family. The music brought smiles, memories, and a flood of emotions. The intimate moment was at once beautiful, sad, and joyful. One of those touching moments where emotions intertwine. A time when we simply enjoy the company of those dear to us.

Nearly $3,000 was raised thanks to the generosity of his loved ones. The funds donated to the Fondation Hôpital Charles-LeMoyne will be allocated to the Champlain Palliative Care Center.

In 2022, he had also organized an event to benefit Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne. He raised more than $7,000 in memory of his wife, Hélène, who had passed away the previous year. Through this initiative, he honored their great love story while generously giving back to his community.

A meaningful gesture that truly reflects the kind of man he is.
