Longueuil, August 23, 2023 – The participants in the Generations Challenge have been pushing their limits for several months to come to the aid of their hospitals. From Montréal to Québec City, the Laurentians and the Gaspésie, Quebecers have understood that they can change our health system and that each and every one of us can make a difference. Together, they hope to raise $1 million to respond to our hospitals’ most pressing needs by September 23, 2023, via the Generations Challenge website.
Already, $107,561 has been raised for the Fondation Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne. And there’s still time to encourage the hospital in your region or to take up a challenge. Since the beginning of June, all kinds of original fundraising initiatives have been launched by citizens and health professionals across Québec.
A challenge made to measure!
The Generations Challenge is, above all, a collective project to support hospital foundations, which strive to be the best allies possible in improving our hospitals so that patients and their families have access to the best health care.
Health is everyone’s concern and the Generations Challenge is accessible to anyone who’d like to make a difference in the health network. Meditating every day, performing a good deed, organizing a show, walking, running or biking… There are so many great ways to raise money and directly help our hospitals respond to their most pressing needs.
Taking action is as necessary as ever
The health and social services system is on the cusp of major change. In a context of growing wait lists for surgery, labour shortages and expensive cutting-edge technologies, the Generations Challenge makes it possible to invest in access to care, in equipment, in training and in innovation. That’s why the participating foundations are pleased and filled with optimism as more and more hospital foundations join the movement each year.
You too can be part of the great wave of solidarity in support of our hospital that is sweeping across Québec until September 23 thanks to the support of our precious sponsors, including our media partner, Québecor, and our local presenter, RONA.
“It’s wonderful to see this rising tide of solidarity across Québec thanks to the talent, determination and creativity of so many people who are committed to helping their hospitals. I’m very proud to be part of this incredible movement.”
‐ Josée Lavigueur, Spokesperson for the Generations Challenges
