She\u2019s smiling, talking to it, cuddling it and laughing. She loves these dolls so much she has hidden them so no one steals them from her. They might suffer from anxiety, agitation and dementia, making their stay hard on them and on their families.<\/p>\n<p>These patients with neurocognitive disorders need an adapted therapeutic environment to improve their daily lives during their hospital stay. This has been achieved with the creation of a Snoezelen-inspired room, a multisensory relaxation room\u2014paid for by YOUR donations!<\/p>\n<p>An environment like this helps families start conversations more easily with their loved ones and makes their visits <i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fhclm fhclm-plus\"><\/i> enjoyable. It also helps care staff create relationships with patients who are often agitated and stressed. But above all, it helps our patients, by making their hospital stay <i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fhclm fhclm-plus\"><\/i> pleasant and less stressful. The space consist of:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d39c507 elementor-icon-list--layout-traditional fa-arrow-right\"><\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\"><strong>A library corner<\/strong> with all kinds of therapeutic objects to manipulate, including therapy dolls, puzzles and various sensory objects.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fas fa-arrow-right\"><\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\"><strong>A family space<\/strong> equipped with a television so that patients can stay connected to their environment, and an interactive console that projects games and images to stimulate the senses and encourage patients to move.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liberty Lotto<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Through your support, we can help reduced the aggression and apathy in our elderly patients, stimulate their senses, alleviate their multisensory room was achieved in collaboration with the Institut de g\u00e9riatrie de Montr\u00e9al. H\u00f4pital Charles-Le Moyne is the first hospital centre in Qu\u00e9bec to offer a multisensory room.
