Did you know that one of Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s most advanced brachytherapy department\u2019s is at H\u00f4pital Charles-Le Moyne?<\/h3>\n

The brachytherapy department at Centre int\u00e9gr\u00e9 de canc\u00e9rologie de la Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie (CICM) is catching the medical community\u2019s attention\u2014here and around the world. It recently welcomed some 40 specialists from Canada and abroad who were attending the Curietherapies Annual Conference.<\/p>\n

With comprehensive services, an experienced team and unique ENT expertise, the CICM is now an international reference.<\/strong>
And that\u2019s not all. Since the beginning of 2024, 415 patients<\/strong> have already received brachytherapy treatment, right here, in the Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie!<\/p>\n

In 2011, your donations funded the creation of the CICM. Since then, your generosity has continued to support this centre, in particular, by funding a second radioactive source projector\u2014a key component for the brachytherapy department.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s ultra-targeted<\/strong> radiotherapy, where a radioactive source is placed as close as possible to the tumour<\/strong>, inside the patient\u2019s body. Used to treat prostate, breast and gynecological cancers, this approach is more effective in preserving healthy tissue, with less side effects<\/strong>\u2014and <\/i> precision, where every millimetre counts.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
